innocents abroad

About
"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime."
- Mark Twain, Innocents Abroad
From Ayutthaya to Red Square; Rapongi to Montreaux. Travel has brought me great memories, lasting friendships, and a deeper respect for seeing things differently. It also had the unexpected effect of teaching me a greater appreciation for my own home culture. I've never been one to keep a dairy, however the following monograph documents many of the beautiful and wonderfully unique locations that I encountered from 2002-2007.
Thank you to all my friends, colleagues, and wife who had to wait while I disappeared to get the shot. And a "Grand Merci" to photographer Michael Kenna who's figurative minimalism taught me an important principal; sometimes less is more. A special thanks to my brother-in-law Wayne whose shared love of travel and passion for photography continue to be a source of long conversations over a glass of red wine.
